Blog post #5

Our little seedlings only planted a month ago are now all between 18 to 25 inches.  Everything looks pretty healthy such as the size and color of our leaves . The stems have grown in length, thickness and strength. Before, our plants could barely stand up on there own, but know the stems are sturdy and wide. Some organism has been leaving holes on Plants A and B but they aren't significant enough to really hurt the plants. With constant growth the plants should be fully grown in a few weeks.
Like all plants, Broccoli Romanesco is living because it obtains food, contributes to the environment, able to grow, and respirates. Every plant on earth is a living thing, including our broccoli romanesco plants. In order to survive and grow our plants need nutrients from soil, sunlight, and water. Plants also undergo the process of photosynthesis to produce sugars. Plants take in carbon dioxide and let off oxygen. Plants respire by using oxygen to break down sugars. Because of these factors and how they are able to survive like we do. Just like how we fight and compete with other humans, plants fight other plants in order to strive and survive. If two plants are too close to each other one will eventually take all the nutrients, water, and sunlight leaving the others not enough resources. The other will die off.
